Nathan Chamberlain is a musician and writer who resides in Oakland, California. Chamberlain has composed musical pieces for orchestra, bass clarinet, marimba, electric guitar, harmonium, digital instruments, and various found objects and sounds. Recently he has composed music and sound design for an upcoming short film, “Drift”, by Michael Garrigues. In April of 2015, Chamberlain produced a concert hosted at the Flight Deck in Oakland, CA where two of his original compositions were premiered alongside the work of three of his colleagues. One of his pieces and choreographic works, “Everything That Rises Must Converge”, featured a Max/MSP patch that communicated with an accelerometer worn by a live dancer that manipulated the pitch and timbre of an electric guitar that was also performed live. He has recently graduated from the University of California, Berkeley where he studied with Ken Ueno in the practice of music composition.
